About Me

Greetings,

I find autobiographies to be extremely awkward and I typically cringe when hearing my biography read aloud. My intention for this blog is to point people to the One True and Living God and Jesus Christ; His Son.  The plan is to do this by sharing whatever I feel led by the Holy Spirit to post via past sermon notes, present circumstances, past failures and/or triumphs, song lyrics; whatever.  My aim is that by reading these hopefully not too lengthy posts, you will be drawn closer to the One who loves you, cares for you, knows you and desires to be known by you.  I don’t anticipate everyone agreeing with everything I post and I am ok with that to a certain extent.  So let the healthy dialogue begin!

I guess I should state the purpose for the title. I’m kind of nerd and decided to use the english transliteration of the greek text of my favorite Bible verse (or at least the one that has been ministering to me for a while):

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out-of-place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. (Ephesians 5:1-8, HCSB, emphasis mine)

And if you’re really curious, here’s a little about me:

Man, Christian, Husband, Son, Friend, Wordsmith, Pastor @ Citylights Church Long Beach (www.citylightschurch.org) and  Auditor (dun dun dun!).

In Christ,

Terry
